Being chosen by a couple to be a part of what’s arguably the most important day of their lives, is truly an honour for me, as a wedding photographer. Spending time with that couple and documenting their day as it unfolds, in a candid and non-intrusive way, is how I like to shoot a wedding….photographing the little things, the way the couple look at each other, that intimate smile, the tear on the cheek. I would best describe my ‘style’ as a mixture of clean, sharp, laid back and candid.

Yes, there will be times during the day when I will need to gather people together and photograph them in a more ‘posed’ way, and typically it’s after the wedding ceremony and during that time when the formal bride and groom photos are being taken with their respective families, relatives and friends. Once these group shots have been taken, I’m back to my relaxed, candid style of photography.

What Should You Look For When Choosing Your Wedding Photographer?

I believe the most important thing is the rapport that you build up between yourselves and your photographer…and that comes during the consultation stage of your search for your wedding photographer.

The quality and style of the photographer’s work is also very important. If you don’t like the ‘style’ the photographer shoots in, then they’re not the photographer for your wedding.

The price the photographer charges is important because all couples have a budget, but price alone shouldn’t be your most important consideration. You also need to consider the level of customer service that you receive, as well as the quality of the finished product…your beautiful wedding photos.

Does the photographer have good quality camera equipment and also carry backup equipment…and are they competent with its use?

Does the photographer have a written contract and do they have the appropriate insurances?

Why Choose Me As Your Wedding Photographer?

Firstly, please take a few minutes to look at the photos I’ve taken at previous weddings. If you like my work and it fits in with how you see your wedding being photographed, then we’re off to a great start.

If you’ve got past the first step and you’re still reading this, I would appreciate the opportunity to sit down with you and your partner, and over a coffee, you can tell me all about your ideas for your wedding day. Hopefully I’ll be able to answer all those questions you have….so the photos you receive are the ones you’ve already pictured in your head.

I only use good quality cameras and fast lenses when I shoot….no matter what I’m shooting. I carry 2 camera bodies with me at all times… is fitted with a mid range zoom lens while the other has a long zoom lens. From time to time I’ll switch to a prime lens or a macro lens…for the close up stuff! I use both on-camera and off-camera flash, depending on what lighting I need. I also carry a 3rd complete camera/lens/flash unit in my car….just in case….and I carry spare memory cards, spare camera batteries and spare batteries for the flash units….just in case.

I use standard contracts with all my photography sessions and I have all the appropriate insurances in place.

Every wedding is unique…from a large scale lavish ‘Hollywood’ style wedding to a small garden ceremony with just family and close friends…and everything in between. That’s why I offer you a choice of wedding photography coverage options. If these choices aren’t what you want for your wedding, then we’ll sit down and tailor the perfect wedding photography option for you.

Although I’m a Mandurah wedding photographer, I will travel anywhere with you to create timeless memories of your special day.
